Twitter thread — DAO compensation framework

https://twitter.com/DanielWorsley_/status/1459131770390069283
  • Top-down compensation: Compensation decisions are made by a small group of leaders. Good for a small team, but doesn’t scale well when an organization gets too big.
  • Tranched top-down compensation: Like the former, but there are now multiple groups of leaders along the hierarchy. It leads to more decentralization of power, but also requires additional bureaucratic processes.
  • Marble allocation model: One example is using Coordinape. A truly decentralized approach, but it doesn’t necessarily ensure fair allocation among the members.
  • Grant-based compensation: Results are measurable, thus eliminating the problem of unfair allocation. But the compensation process can be slow and tedious.
